Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Kotzias met on Monday, 18 September, with representatives of American Jewish organizations, including the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, the American Jewish Committee, B’nai B’rith International, the World Jewish Congress, and the Anti-Defamation League. During the meeting, which took place in a very good atmosphere, there was discussion on the strategic and historical relationship between Greece and Israel, the historical ties between the two peoples and cooperation between the Greek and Jewish diasporas, the prospects of the Middle East Peace Process and security issues concerning the wider Eastern Mediterranean region.Mr. Kotzias set out the Greek state’s clear stance against any form of anti-Semitism and presented policies that Greece has introduced to honour the memory of Greek Jews and their contribution to Greek society.
