PIRAEUS, Greece (AP) — The Latest on Europe's migrant crisis (all times local): 4:50 p.m. Portugal's government says it is taking in 10 of the 58 migrants aboard a rescue ship in the Mediterranean Sea, as part of a deal with France and Spain. The Portuguese Interior Ministry said in a statement it was making the gesture "out of a sense of solidarity and in concert with Spain and France." Authorities in Paris and Madrid made no immediate announcement about a possible deal on what to do with the other people on the Aquarius 2 rescue vessel. The ship asked France on Monday to let the migrants disembark in Marseille, but Paris said there were closer ports and a need for a comprehensive European solution to the migrant problem.

In a tweet Tuesday, the humanitarian group Medecins Sans Frontieres, which jointly operates the Aquarius 2, said it was "headed north towards France." On Monday, the ship asked French authorities to let the migrants disembark in the southern city of Marseille. France deflected the request, saying there were closer ports and a need for a European solution. A memorandum of cooperation in the field of tourism was concluded between the two countries following completion of the work of the 4th Greek-Kazakhstani Joint Interministerial Committee, which was held today in Athens. Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Giorgos Katrougalos headed the Greek delegation, while the Kazakhstani delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Roman Vassilenko.The two delegations discussed issues of cooperation in fields such as energy, transport, tourism, agriculture, and fishing. The memorandum of cooperation in tourism was concluded between Mr. Katrougalos and the president of the Kazakhstan's Committee of Tourism Industry, Murzamadiyeva Mainura SavetovnaImmediately following conclusion of the work of the 4th Greek-Kazakhstani Joint Interministerial Committee, the Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs made the following statement:“We have a very good cooperation with Kazakhstan. It is vital for the two countries to work together on developing bilateral relations. Both countries are models of stability, each in its own region, and they promote not only bilateral trade, but also trade between Europe and Asia. The two countries represent links and bridges between China, the Eurasian Economic Commission, and the European Union. Together, we shall promote prospects of cooperation on the part of Kazakhstan with the European Union. Moreover, just recently, we ratified the related cooperation agreement between Kazakhstan and the European Union in Parliament. We discussed development of bilateral relations in fields such as transport, energy, particularly on the alternate forms of the latter, agriculture and mainly its modern forms such as hydroponic farming and pisciculture, as well as cooperation in tourism. Specifically with regard to cooperation in tourism, we concluded a memorandum of cooperation between the two countries."
