The first snow of the year has fallen in Epirus at an altitude of 1,500 meters. Meanwhile, temperatures have dropped dramatically throughout all of northern Greece, particularly in the city of Ioannina. The first signs of snow appeared last night in Epirote villages such as Mitsikeli and Vassilitsa and at the ski resort of Aniliou. Meanwhile, the weather in northern Greece has been generally wintry, with temperatures having fallen below zero in some areas. Local authorities are on high alert in order to deal with any potential accidents or problems caused by the weather. Despite bad weather conditions, people from all over Greece are planning three-day vacations to take advantage of the October 28 national holiday. Poor weather is expected to affect the whole of Greece, however.
