At least three people were killed and fourteen were injured in a car pile-up involving some 40 vehicles in northern Greece on Sunday morning, authorities said. The tragic accident happened shortly after 10:30pm Greek time (7:30am GMT) on Egnatia motorway at the Kouloura junction near the northern Greek city of Veria. Eye-witnesses reported that a speeding lorry crashed into dozens of vehicles that were temporarily stopped due to ongoing works on the motorway. Images captured thick black smoke rising from the scene of the accident.
