More than 20 countries have sent firefighters to Greece as the country struggles to contain deadly wildfires, with residents forced to flee the country’s second-largest island as the fires burned for the sixth straight day. On the island of Evia, many are still battling to save homes with residents using only their tools and buckets of water to put out the flames. People are angry, saying little help came when fire first surrounded the village. In the village of Ellinika, volunteers helped firefighters try to bring a major blaze under control, and there have been planes dumping water to try to stop the destruction. The fires have already forced the evacuation of villagers, with hundreds escaping by boat over the weekend from the Port of Pefki.
