Greek Interior Minister Nikos Voutsis gave a speech after the first results of the Greek referendum were announced. He stated that as the government had guaranteed the referendum was organized with a sense of responsibility for the country. “We are very satisfied with the way the referendum was organized,” he added. The Minister also described the Greek citizens’ behavior as exemplary, noting that more than 50% of register voters in the country contributed in the final decision. Furthermore, he thanked all the bodies and people who contributed in the referendum process and added that the official result estimates could possibly be announced around 9 p.m. local time.
