Greece defeated Senegal 87-64 on Saturday during the FIBA World Cup Championship taking place in Spain. It was the first game for both teams in the tournaments group phase. The last time Senegal played in FIBA’s flagship event was at the 2006 FIBA World Championship. Entering the tournament with the No. 5 spot in the FIBA bwin Ranking Men, the Greeks are eight years removed from their famous upset of the United States in the Semi-Finals of the FIBA World Championship.
