Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Markos Bolaris today met with the Praesidium of Greece's Shiite Muslims. During the talks, the two sides referred briefly to issues facing the Shiite community residing in Greece, issues of religious freedom in countries of the region, as well as the two-day conference organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on religious diplomacy, on 28 February 2019.The Deputy Minister noted the need for continued cooperation, which shall be ensured through the special centre that will be established at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and stressed the need for the promotion of religious freedom and respect of cultural monuments in the wider region of the Middle East.The Praesidium invited the Deputy Minister to attend a celebratory meal served in the context of Ramadan (Iftar) on 30 May 2019.
