We welcome the release of the two members of the Greek Armed Forces, A. Mitretodis and D. Kouklatzis, following more than 5 months of unjustified custody in the prison of Edirne. This decision by the Turkish authorities is positive and will contribute to the improvement of Greek-Turkish relations and the friendship between our people. The official inauguration, next September, of the historical building of the Consulate General of Greece in Izmir, which was postponed due two the detainment of the two military men, will contribute to the same direction. The constant efforts exerted by the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the diplomatic and consular Missions of Greece in Turkey have borne fruit. Once again Diplomacy is the biggest winner.
