Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Terens Quick is in Cyprus as of today to participate in the proceedings of the 19th Global Conference of Overseas Cypriots, as well as in the third Greece-Cyprus-Israel trilateral meeting on diaspora issues. He will also be received by the President of the Republic, Nicos Anastasiades, and meet with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ioannis Kasoulides, and Minister of Education and Culture, Costas Kadis. At the invitation of the Cypriot Presidential Commissioner for Humanitarian Issues and Overseas Cypriots, Fotis Fotiou, Mr. Quick will give a welcome speech, on behalf of the Greek government, at the opening ceremony of the 19th Global Conference of Overseas Cypriots (POMAK - PSEKA). The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, will declare the opening of the Conference. Also to take place in Nicosia is the third Greece-Cyprus-Israel trilateral meeting on diaspora issues, between Terens Quick, Fotis Fotiou and Natan Sharansky, the head of the "Jewish Agency for Israel." In this context, and in implementation of a decision taken at the previous trilateral agreement, which took place in Thessaloniki on 15 June of this year, a trilateral meeting of university students from corresponding diaspora organizations in the U.S. is being held in tandem. Finally, at the opportunity of his visit to Cyprus, the Deputy Minister will be received by the President of the Republic, Nicos Anastasiades, and will meet with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ioannis Kasoulides, and Minister of Education and Culture Costas Kadis. Mr. Quick and Mr. Kadis will carry out the first discussion of coordinated Greece-Cyprus actions on issues of Greek language learning in diaspora communities throughout the world.
