Word of the Week: 'Gorgonize' taken from Greek Medusa legend
According to Greek mythology, the Gorgons were three monstrous sisters with necks covered in dragon’s scales, claws of bronze and teeth of curled boar tusks. Live snakes writhed and hissed from the Gorgons’ heads where hair should have grown.
