After meeting with Greek Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Christos Spirtzis, the Federation of Associations of Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority representatives decided to suspend the 48-hour strike that was set to take place over the weekend. The two parties discussed the economic asphyxiation faced by the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority, with the Deputy Minister recognizing the truth behind the employees’ demands, regarding the proper and safe operation of airports and air navigation. Furthermore, Spirtzis added that he will talk with the Finance Ministry to request greater freedom in money flow toward the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority. In addition, he stated that the government will allocate 9 million euros for maintenance and replacement of electronic and engineering systems.
