Business Insider described Greece’s Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis as an “unexpected finance minister who seems to have a sixth sense about trends in the Greek economy,” while the news website included him on its list of the 20 most interesting men in the world. Even though Varoufakis appears to have taken a break from appearing in foreign media, he has certainly not been forgotten. Yanis Varoufakis was elected in January 2015, as part of the SYRIZA coalition government. A “self-dubbed accidental economist” is currently serving as Greece’s finance minister “having never been trained as an economist,” wrote the Business Insider. “Deep down, he’s a rebel at heart; he changed the spelling of his name from ‘Yannis’ to ‘Yanis,’ just to spite an old teacher he didn’t like, and he dresses a lot more casually than most of his peers, often opting for a cool, leather jacket than a suit and tie,” adds the article. Furthermore, the Business Insider noted that Varoufakis’ behavior changes day by day, as do his views on the Greek economy, however he always makes the right predictions when it comes to trends. The Business Insider included significant men from various professions. For example, American chef, author, and television personality Anthony Bourdain, musician Brian May, billionaire and Tesla founder Elon Musk, American entrepreneur, author, and philanthropist Blake Mycoskie, Pulitzer Prize-winning scientist, poet, composer, artist, and dancer Douglas Hofstadter, American restaurateur, chef, food personality, writer, and attorney Eddie Huang, American professional poker player Dan Bilzerian, Russian President Vladimir Putin, artist Jeff Koons, American actor Nick Offerman, American actor and activist George Takei, American mixed martial artist Quinton Jackson, doctor Jonathan Miller, scientist Neil deGrasse Tyson, actor Peter Dinklage, English businessman Richard Branson, American physician and a retired NASA astronaut Story Musgrave, actor Viggo Mortensen and finally American actor Jonathan Goldsmith.
