The European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker on Friday announced that in 2015 EU funds of around 2 billion euros that Greece will receive from the EU structural funds can be redirected towards activities related to growth and the strengthening of social cohesion. The president of the Commission noted that SMEs are the beneficiaries, adding that European Commission vice-president Valdis Dombrovskis is responsible for the Greek aid within the framework of the European Commission. Regarding the EU-Greece co-financed projects, the Greek participation accounts for 5 percent, he stated. European Council President Donald Tusk also said that Thursday’s discussions were useful to the extent that it served as a “reality check” for all involved. He also said that after Thursday’s consultations there are no misunderstandings as to what should be done. (source: ana-mpa)
