An earthquake measuring 4.0 on the Richter scale hit the Ionian island of Cephalonia, Greece, on Monday morning. The 5km-deep quake struck in the sea northwest of Argostoli at 9:20 a.m. local time (7:20 a.m. GMT). There have been no reports of injuries or damage. A 5.7-magnitude earthquake in January caused widespread damage on the island, leaving hundreds homeless for days as their homes suffered severe damage and more than a dozen people were injured.
