Joel Campbell will play for Arsenal next season, confirms Arsene Wenger

The 21-year-old on-loan Arsenal forward scored one goal and set up another in Costa Rica’s stunning 3-1 win over Uruguay on Saturday. And after hearing about the youngster’s performance in Fortaleza, Wenger – who is in Brazil commentating on the World Cup for French television station TF1 – revealed that he will recall Campbell to North London this summer. ‘He will definitely come back to us for pre-season,’ Wenger told Sportsmail. ‘He is maturing well.’ Campbell was signed by Arsenal in 2011 but has never played for the club after spending the last three seasons on loan at French side Lorient, Spanish outfit Real Betis and Greek champions Olympiacos.
