ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Marcus Berg's long drive in the 65th minute gave Panathinaikos a 1-0 victory over OFI in the Greek league on Saturday, its first win after the season opener.
Both teams ended the game a man short; OFI's Lincoln Zvasiya received a direct red card six seconds into the second half when he made a weak pass to his goalkeeper and brought down Berg, who pounced on the mistake. Spyros Risvanis was dismissed for a hard tackle in the 84th.
The win lifted Panathinaikos to fifth, four points behind Olympiakos, which will seek to maintain its perfect record when it meets Panetolikos on Sunday.
Also on Saturday, Asteras beat newcomer Kalloni 2-0 to catch it in second place, and Atromitos beat Apollon by the same score.
