The 2nd round of Interministerial Consultations between Greece and Germany was held today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the level of Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs, within the framework of the bilateral Action Plan for strengthening the cooperation between the two countries in numerous sectors.Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Markos Bolaris, led the Greek delegation and, together with his counterpart, German State Secretary of the Federal Foreign Office, Andreas Michaelis, co-chaired the plenary of the participating Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Citizen Protection, Economy Development, Education Research and Religious Affairs, Labour, Social Insurance Social Solidarity, Culture Sports, Environment Energy, and Tourism.The two Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs also held bilateral discussions in the context of which they discussed bilateral relations, the future of Europe, BREXIT, and the latest political developments in Greece's neighbouring countries.The participating Ministries conducted separate, sectoral meetings with representatives of the corresponding German Ministries on issues falling within their competence.The collaboration between the two countries in the context of the Action Plan continues and the third round of consultations on the level of Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs is expected to be held during the 2nd half of 2019, in Berlin.
