Greece had tough talks with its European lenders over an 11 billion euro package of budget cuts needed for the country to receive its next allotment of bailout money.

The troika is back and it is lashing out with a vengeance against Greek senior citizens and civil servants, demanding sackings and an extra 2.5 billion euros in budget cuts. They had already made sure to decimate the income of pensioners – both public and private sector - thus transforming Greeks’ golden years into rust.

Coalition has the solution for Greece, says Kouvelis
The last of the political leaders to take the parliament podium, Democratic Left head Fotis Kouvelis was quick to point out that the coalition government could assure Greece's place in the euro, its disconnection from the memorandum and the country's exit from its current financial pit.

Kammenos calls coalition "another Simitis government"
The leader of the Independent Greeks Panos Kammenos, during his speech concerning the government policy, made it absolutely clear that his party would not be offering any support to the Antonis Samaras led coalition.

KKE attacks Hellenic Sugar privatisation
Communist Party of Greece (KKE) General Secretary Aleka Papariga on Thursday stressed her opposition to the planned sale of the state-owned Hellenic Sugar Industry (EBZ), calling the plan to sell off the country's remaining sugar processing plants "a political and financial crime".

Venizelos calls for extension of fiscal adjustment
