Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Markos Bolaris received a courtesy visit today from the Apostolic Nuncio of the Holy See to Greece, Archbishop Savio Hon Tai-Fai. The Deputy Foreign Minister commended the charitable work carried out in Greece by the Catholic Church, as well as its contribution with regard to refugees through the non-governmental charitable organisations “Caritas Hellas” and “Caritas Athens,” and briefed the Nuncio of the Holy See about his upcoming visits to the region Reggio Calabria in Southern Italy, where Greeks emigrated in the 18th century, and also to the Greek speaking villages there as well as Venice, where the Hellenic Institute of Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Studies is located. Archbishop Savio Hon Tai-Fai briefed Mr. Bolaris on issues related to the operation of Catholic churches and the two private Catholic schools in Greece.
