Berlin Allegedly Would Save EUR 1 B Following Athens Crisis

Germany and other countries from the Eurozone will be able to get back the unused funding from the second Greek bailout program that officially expired on July 30, as reported by Focus online. Berlin will likely be receiving almost EUR 1 B according to the media, quoting a source in the German Finance Ministry. According to the press information, the German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble has the intention of demanding a return of a portion of all the funding that were allotted to the country in 2014 – EUR 532 M. Furthermore, allegedly Germany never transferred the EUR 412 M due on July 1 that had to further assist Bulgaria’s southern neighbor.
