Austria’s Finance Minister has said that Greece would have to leave the eurozone. Hans Jörg Schelling said that Athens would have first to ask the European Union and other countries to agree to its request. Greece has called a 5 July referendum so that voters can decide on whether to accept new, tougher bailout terms that the government itself opposes. “The consequences for the euro countries are not nearly as bad as for Greece. “It’s clear that one country can under no circumstances blackmail the European Commission and the euro countries,” Austrian Newspaper Die Presse quoted Mr Schelling as saying.
