A mission of U.S. Treasury officials is expected to visit Athens soon for talks with the Greek government, as part of a series of missions on debt crisis issues, according to sources in Washington, DC. The Treasury members are experienced in missions abroad with U.S. Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Jack Lew. Their visit was decided in consultation with the White House and they are expected to visit other European capitals as well. Greece’s loan issue and the overall Eurozone situation is expected to be part of the agenda in the meeting between U.S. President Barack Obama and German Chancellor Angela Merkel at the White House next week.
