PAOK remains on top of Greek league despite 4-2 loss at Xanthi

by  Associated Press Xanthi beats PAOK 4-2 in Greek league Associated Press - 7 December 2014 15:36-05:00 ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Pantelis Kapetanos scored twice to lead Xanthi to a 4-2 win over front-runner PAOK in the Greek league Sunday. Adrian Lucero and Silva Cleyton also scored for Xanthi. Klaus Athanassiadis and Robert Mak scored for PAOK. The loss prevented PAOK from widening the current four-point lead over defending champion Olympiakos, which stumbled at home Saturday against Giannena, drawing 2-2. Also, third-place Panathinaikos drew 1-1 at Asteras, Niki Volos beat Kalloni 2-0, Levadiakos won 2-0 at OFI and Panetolikos beat Panionios 2-1. Kapetanos opened the scoring in the sixth minute and Athanassiadis equalized for PAOK in the 38th. Xanthi went up 3-1 with goals from Lucero (47th) and Cleyton (77th). Mak pulled one back from PAOK in the 82nd before Kapetanos completed the win in the 88th.
