Greek Development Minister Nikos Dendias discussed possible tax reductions and ways to boost growth in the crisis-striken country with German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble at an official meeting in Berlin on Tuesday, state news agency ANA-MPA reported. “We discussed a lot about tax issues, how the Greek economy could function in a framework with fewer taxes but also with strong growth tools which would help small and medium sized businesses find funding and grow,” Dendias said after meeting with Schaeuble. The Minister said that unemployment in Greece cannot be battled if the economy doesn’t function properly and if exports are not increased, adding that Germany could and should help in this direction. Dendias is scheduled to attend a luncheon with the chief of the German Industry Association (BDI) later in the day.
