by XINHUA TIRANA, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- Pogradec, southeastern city of Albania will host Balkan Film and Food Festival on Sept. 1-7. The festival will feature artistic, short and documentary and animated films from Albania, Kosovo, Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, Macedonia, Serbia and Greece as well as co-productions from Georgia and Slovenia. In the cinema hall "Lasgush Poradeci", film festival will last for one week with 70 movies from the Balkans. The festival is open to all genres of cinema: short film, student film, independent film, and documentaries. A panel of international judges will evaluate every works in the competition and winners will have their prize at the end of the festival. In addition to film competition, the festival will also provide Albanian folklore concert, journalism, film and sociology training for the young and a craft fair for all guests. Students and young people will enjoy free accommodation in a tent camp. Food is an important part in this three "F" event, meaning food,film and festival. Organizers of the festival aim to bring all Balkan guests together in one table with different Balkan traditional dishes.
