With the Troika beginning to hold diverging views, we note that the European Commission have just issued a miniscule press release about the ongoing review of Greek finances.
With the title, 'Statement by the Commission, ECB and IMF on the Greek review mission' the entire release reads:
"A mission from the EC, ECB, and IMF that has been reviewing the government's economic programme has made important progress. To allow completion of technical work, policy discussions will pause, but are expected to resume by the end of the month."
This might mean, "we're busy doing hard sums" or even "We're chillaxing on the beach"
This is by no means the shortest press release in the world, but the normally ebullient commission seem to have gone rather quiet.
