Seasonally adjusted unemployment in the euro area has risen 0.1% since April, to 12.2%.
In the EU overall, the figure remained static at 11%.
The figures from Eurostat say that 26,588,000 people are unemployed in the European Union, 19,375,000 were in the euro area.
The figurees, say Eurostat, "have risen markedly compared with April 2012," When the euro area unemployment figure was 11.2% and the EU's 10.3%.
