"Greece does not negotiate international law and international legal order" was the message sent to multiple recipients by Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs, Miltiadis Varvitsiotis, representing Greece at the 4th Ukraine Reform Conference, held in Vilnius, Lithuania, at the third and last stop of his official tour in the Baltic countries. In particular, Mr. Varvitsiotis stressed that Greece supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine, out of principle and full respect for international law and European values, calling on all participants in the Conference to act accordingly in similar cases.Earlier, before the commemorative photo and the opening of the Conference, the Alternate Minister had a short conversation with the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, who also participated in the Conference. Mr. Varvitsiotis underlined to his interlocutor that the so far observed de-escalation in Greek-Turkish relations must be maintained as a basis for dialogue while he drew attention to the need to abstain from unilateral actions in the field.Watch the Alternate Minister’s intervention here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09o0iRpz3qg).
