Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Miltiadis Varvitsiotis today met with the German Ambassador to Greece, Dr Ernst Reichel. During the meeting, which took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, they discussed European and bilateral issues. Specifically, they exchanged views on the course of vaccinations in the EU and on the Prime Minister’s proposal for a European vaccination certificate. They also discussed EU-Turkish relations, aspects of the migration issue, the results of the German Presidency of the Council of the EU, and the upcoming celebrations of the bicentennial of the start of the Greek Revolution of 1821. Finally, reference was made to the presidency of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), which Greece holds in 2021.
