Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Terence Quick, sent a letter to Mr. Giorgos Dimaras, the competent Deputy Minister for the Environment, requesting the extension of the date of submission of declarations to the National Cadastre for Greek expatriates or for all Greeks residing abroad, at least until the end of September. "The Greeks, regardless of whether they can avail themselves of the electronic submission or the assistance of a proxy holder, wish in many cases to take care themselves of these declarations and the best time is during their summer holidays in Greece, especially in July and August. The deadline set for the end of June 2019 must therefore be extended," said the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, adding: "In addition to the letter I sent on 15/02/19, I also discussed this question personally with my colleague, Mr Dimaras, who replied that since the request was reasonable he will propose to initiate the process of changing the dates, with the help of the National Cadastre."
