Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Markos Bolaris received yesterday India’s Ambassador to Greece, Ms. Shamma Jain. In light of the commencement, on 2 October, of the yearlong celebrations marking the 150th anniversary of the birth of Mahatma Gandhi, leader of the Indian independence movement and founder of the Republic of India, Ms. Jain briefed Mr. Bolaris on the cultural events that India is planning to organise in Greece, and requested the relevant assistance of the competent Greek Authorities. She also encouraged Greek associations to organise cultural events in her own country.
