Bulgaria, Greece, Albania, Macedonia to Discuss Migrant Crisis

Interior and foreign ministers of Bulgaria, Greece, Albania and Macedonia are to meet in Thessaloniki on Thursday and Friday to discuss possible measures to control the migrant inflow into Europe. The meeting has been called by Greece's top diplomat, Nikos Kotzias. Bulgaria will be represented by Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov and Deputy Interior Minister Filip Gounev. Despite the smaller numbers of migrants crossing into Greece daily (dozens now, compared to thousands in January), the government of Alexis Tsipras is still to find a solution for the nearly 50 000 people stranded in the country following the closure of the so-called Western Balkans migrant route. Bulgaria and other Greek neighbors for their part fear the numbers of migrants trying to enter their territories will rise this spring and summer.
