Brussels beats London, New York and Paris for best quality of life

Vienna is the world’s best city for quality of life for the seventh year on a row, according to a study published Tuesday. Western European cities continue to dominate the annual study by consulting company Mercer, filling seven of the top 10 places in the list. The Austrian capital is followed by Zurich (2), Munich (4), Dusseldorf (6), Frankfurt (7), Geneva (8), and Copenhagen (9). Brussels placed 21 out of 230 cities, beating Paris (37), London (39), and New York (44). Prague is the highest-ranking Central and Eastern European city at 69th place. The annual study looks at the best places for multinational companies to send expats, taking into account personal safety, based on internal stability, crime figures, performance of local law enforcement, and the home country’s relationship with other countries. * ["I love Brussels" post card at a souvenir shop near the city's Grand Place] Also On Politico BRUSSELS TO DONALD TRUMP: THIS AIN’T NO HELLHOLE Laurens Cerulus * [Germany fans at a football match] Also On Politico GERMANY THE ‘BEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD’ Paul Dallison Luxembourg tops the personal safety list and is followed by Bern, Helsinki, and Zurich all placed equal second.
