The Alternate Foreign Minister for European Affairs, Nikos Xydakis, met at the Foreign Ministry today with the UK Ambassador to Greece, John Kittmer, with whom he discussed matters of bilateral and European interest, reaffirming the close historical ties between the two peoples.The meeting was held in a warm atmosphere and there was a discussion of the future of European integration. The UK side briefed Mr. Xydakis on the Europe-wide debate currently under way on the “new content” of EU-UK relations, ahead of the UK’s referendum on the country’s remaining in the EU.Finally, the refugee and migration issue was also discussed.
