Finance ministers due to meet for last-ditch talks this week as possibility of ‘Grexit’ becomes all too real after stonewalling by Tsipras governmentGreece is threatening to miss a €1.6bn (£1.15bn) debt repayment to the International Monetary Fund, in a move that would bring it closer to default and ejection from the euro. “The government will not pay the IMF, if by the end of the month an agreement hasn’t been achieved with lenders,” Alexis Tsipras is reported to have told opposition party leader, Stavros Theodorakis, during talks between the two in Athens today.
