OECD: 1 in 2 Greeks Not Satisfied With Their Lives

Greeks appear less satisfied with their lives, according to an OECD survey, which found that one in two citizens have expressed dissatisfaction with their daily routine. Specifically, according to the Better Life Index, the Greeks are less satisfied with life compared to the average of OECD’s countries. Only 52% of Greeks said that they have positive experiences throughout their day, while the OECD countries’ average is 76%. The index is intended to compare the prosperity in all countries, based on 11 everyday issues regarding materials, living conditions and the quality of life, which are considered critical according to the OECD. The 11 issues are: Housing, Income, Jobs, Community, Education, Environment, Civic Engagement, Health, Life Satisfaction, Safety, Work-Life Balance. In Europe, citizens from the UK, Sweden, Germany, Finland and Poland chose Life Satisfaction as their top priority, while health was more appreciated in countries such as Russia, Norway, Iceland, France and Austria.
