US stocks open lower following weak Chinese trade data and more worries over Greece bailout

by  Associated Press US stocks open lower on weak China data, Greece worries Associated Press - 9 February 2015 09:41-05:00 NEW YORK (AP) — U.S. stocks are opening lower, following declines in overseas markets on weak Chinese trade data and more worries about Greece's finances. The Dow Jones industrial average fell 78 points, or 0.4 percent, to 17,750 as of 9:35 a.m. Eastern time Monday. The Standard & Poor's 500 lost five points, or 0.3 percent, to 2,050. The Nasdaq composite fell 15 points, or 0.3 percent, to 4,728. European markets fell broadly after Greece's new prime minister said he would renegotiate an international bailout that imposed harsh budget austerity. Bond prices rose. The yield on the 10-year Treasury note fell to 1.91 percent.
