Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is expected to meet President of the Hellenic Republic Karolos Papoulias at the Presidential Mansion on Wednesday at noon, the Athens-Macedonian news agency reported on Tuesday. On Tuesday, the Greek premier briefed Mr. Papoulias, The River chief Stavros Theodorakis and European leaders regarding the developments at Monday’s Eurogroup session in Brussels. Mr. Tsipras will address SYRIZA’s parliamentary group at 4 p.m. on Tuesday where he is expected to announce the government’s presidential candidate. The first ballot for the next president is scheduled to take place on Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the Greek parliament. In the 300-seat House, 180 votes are needed to elect president.
