Alexis Tsipras’ radical left Syriza party – an alliance of Marxists, socialists, Maoists, Trotskyists and greens – has seen its popularity soar in recent weeks. Its anti-austerity promises, either through debt forgiveness inside the euro or a debt-free life, are proving popular.
