Greece’s athlete Katerina Stefanidi, 24, won silver in pole vault at the 2014 European Athletics Championships taking place from August 12 to 17 in Zurich. The young woman from Filothei, Athens, vaulted over 4.60 metres to come in second. Anzhelika Sidorova came first (4.65) and Angelina Zhuk-Krasnova third (4.60); both are from Russia. It is only the second time Greece gets a medal in pole vault at the European Athletics Championships. Another Greek athlete, Nicole Kyriakopoulou, came in 7th, with 4.35 metres. (Source: ana-mpa)
