Backgammon a la Grecque is a handmade, travel version of the classic game invented by Greeks and is played in the local coffee shops, barber shops and tavernas, with games such as «portes», «plakoto», «fevga» and others. Greeks cal it “tavli.” Today, men and women of all ages, enjoy tavli on-the-go. A modern version of an all-time classic. It has Mediterranean flavor, salty taste, carefree spirit, Greek white colors and is sold at the Cycladic Art Museum gift shop. Greek White hopes to liberate non-utilitarian objects from their folksy look and the new backgammon set is a fine example of this effort.
