Balkan PMs to meet in Croatia on regional cooperation

by  KG/XINHUA The prime ministers from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, and Montenegro will meet in Croatia on Monday on regional cooperation, ahead of a conference on the Western Balkans organized by German Chancellor Angela Merkel. During the meeting in the southern Croatian town of Cavtat, the prime ministers will discuss the cooperation in joint economic and transport projects, especially the Adriatic-Ionian highway which is supposed to connect Western Europe and Greece through their countries, Croatian News Agency Hina reported. Merkel decided to host a meeting with the representatives of the Southeast Europe countries, which was scheduled for Thursday in Berlin. She expected the meeting would get leaders of the region together to discuss the existed issues and give new impetus to resolve them. She said on Saturday in a video message that cooperation in the region now is more important than confrontation, despite a number of conflicts still exist, according to Hina. The prime ministers, foreign and economy ministers of Western Balkan countries, will attend Thursday’s meeting.
