Bullets found at headquarters of Greek socialist PASOK co-ruling party

by  XINHUA

ATHENS, May 25 (Xinhua) -- A Greek counter terrorism squad examines bullets found at the headquarters of Greece's socialist PASOK co-ruling party in central Athens, Greek police said on Sunday, as Greek voters were queuing at polling stations across the country to vote for elections for the European parliament and local administration councils.

According to early information at least one of the bullets has hit the ceiling of an office at the building's second floor.

The police was alerted by party members. It has not been clarified yet when the fires were shot. There were no reports of eye witnesses who heard gunshots.

Greek urban guerilla groups have targeted political, police and financial targets often for years.

Last year unidentified assailants fired at least nine shots with Kalashnikov AK 47 riffles against the headquarters of the ruling conservative New Democracy party, while it was empty, with a bullet hitting the office of Prime Minister Antonis Samaras.
