Celebrity chef opens MP Taverna in Astoria

A celebrity chef who has travelled the far reaches of the globe cooking in front of television cameras is now facing his toughest challenge yet — opening a Greek restaurant in Astoria. Chef Michael Psilakis, whose critically acclaimed restaurants in Manhattan and Long Island have helped to popularize Greek cuisine, opened MP Taverna last week in the heart of the city’s largest Greek community.
