How the world sees Greece
SYRIZA has done it again. The Coalition of the Radical left has won its second legislative elections in eight months having garnered approximately 35.5 % of the Greek vote on Sunday. Former Greek Prime Minsiter and SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras has almost returned to the country’s helm with a 7.5% margin from his opponent New Democracy president Evangelos Meimarakis.

“Tomorrow we will continue the same struggle we started 7 months ago,” said Alexis Tsipras after the first results of Greece’s latest election were announced on September 20th. The former Greek prime minister thanked his previous coalition partner and ANEL leader Panos Kamenos and hinted at formally announcing a new Greek government within the next 24 hours.

SYRIZA emerged as the victorious political party in the Greek elections on Sunday night with 35.5% of the Greek vote and Greece’s political party leaders reacted to the result.
