Greek Revenues Collapse in First Two Months of 2015

The Greek state budget primary surplus recorded a significant drop to just 503 billion euros in the first two months of 2015, compared to a surplus of 1.68 billion euros in the corresponding period last year. Moreover, the state budget showed a deficit of 928 million euros this year compared to a surplus of 105 million euros last year. According to Bank of Greece (BoG) figures, the state budget deficit this year amounted to 684 million euros compared to the 139 millions surplus recorded last year. Similarly, during the first two months of 2015, revenues of the ordinary budget amounted to 6.735 billion euros from 7.95 billion last year, while these figures exclude the 55 million euros from the transfer of bond yields from BoG. Regarding the costs of the regular budget, it amounted to 7.677 billion euros from 8.630 billion between January and February 2014.
