Tsipras: We Don't Need Money, We Need Time

An important Eurogroup meeting in Brussels will take place on Monday so that finance ministers could discuss the Greek bailout program. ''We don't want new credits or financial aid..,'' Greek PM Alexis Tsipras said in an interview for the German magazine Stern. "Instead of money, we need time in order for us to be able to implement our reform plan. Greece will be a completely different country in only six months. I can promise you that.'' He added that he expects tough negotiations, but supports a solution that would benefit both sides. The Greek debt amounts to close to EUR 240 B.  Tsipras has largely announced his opposing views regarding the austerity measures imposed on his country with several proposals to counteract the ones made by the Troika mission - European Central Bank, International Monetary Fund and European Commission.  Meanwhile, 20 000 people have gathered in Athens, 8 000 in Thessaloniki to express their support for the new Greek government at the eve of the negotiations in Brussels. Similar demonstrations took place in other European cities. Over 2 000 people marched in Paris in support of the ''Greek David'' and against the ''Financial Goliath''. Hundreds of people also gathered in Marseille and Lisbon.
