Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Sia Anagnostopoulou’s statement to Athens-Macedonia News Agency on the upgrade of diplomatic and consular missions in Greece and North Macedonia

The upgrade in the diplomatic relations between Greece and North Macedonia, signaled by the establishment of a Greek Embassy in Skopje and an Embassy of the Republic of North Macedonia in Athens, as well as of the General Consulates of Greece and North Macedonia in Bitola and Thessaloniki respectively – constitutes the culmination of our efforts for future progress and solidarity in the Balkans. It is a solid step that will contribute to further deepening cooperation in all sectors, as stipulated in the Action Plan for the deepening and strengthening of cooperation among our countries. Our cooperation in a climate of good neighbourly relations, with a view to prosperity, growth and peace in the region, commenced with the Prespa Agreement. The historical value of this, is demonstrated by such steps.
