Minister of Foreign Affairs Giorgos Katrougalos on visit to Singapore( 29-30 May 2019)

Minister of Foreign Affairs Giorgos Katrougalos is carrying out a visit to Singapore on 29-30 May, where he will be having key political and economic contacts. In this context he will also be received on Thursday, 30 May, by the country’s Prime Minister, Lee Hsien Loong. On the same day, Giorgos Katrougalos will meet with his counterpart, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan. Talks will be centred around bilateral relations and expanding cooperation, as well as regional and international developments. Subsequently, the two Ministers of Foreign Affairs will sign an Agreement for the Avoidance of Double Taxation between Greece and Singapore and will travel to the offices of the Greek Embassy in Singapore where they will attend the official inaugural ceremony, marking its opening. On the previous day, 29 May, focus will be placed on economic relations, as the Minister of Foreign Affairs will be meeting with the Minister of Trade and Industry, Chan Chun Sing, with whom he will discuss bilateral economic and trade cooperation. In addition, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will deliver a welcome address to the Greek-Singapore Business Forum, which is co-organised by SEV, SEVE and Enterprise Greece, with a goal of expanding business synergies between the two sides and further strengthening the outward-looking nature of Greek entrepreneurship. Finally, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will give a lecture at the Singapore Institute of Foreign Affairs on “The Future of Europe”.
